100 Day Photos

I have come to work with some amazing families from all over the world that live here in Pittsburgh.  Among the lovely customers who I have had the pleasure to serve, have been several Chinese families who I have taken 100 Day birth celebration photos for. 

100 Days is an important milestone for the baby because celebrating 100 Days represents the wish that this new little person will live for 100 years.  Usually family and friends gather for a large party and send gifts for the baby, similar to how a baby shower is celebrated in Western culture.  A Longevity Lock is traditionally worn around the neck and the baby is usually adorned in something red. Some Chinese families also have special hats, bracelets, and anklets for their baby to wear.  In modern times, 100 Days portraits have changed a bit from the very traditional looks, but one thing is the same- 100 Days is a very important cultural milestone to be celebrated! And in the world we live in today, we should look for as many reasons to celebrate and rejoice as we can.  

Happy 100 Days to this little cutie!  He was a joy to photograph.  Little man was remarkably pleasant for all 90 minutes of his session. These are some of my favorite shots from his milestone photography session.
